Based on the SBI materials, a prosecutor from the Cherkasy region will be judged for illegally obtaining disability group
Under the procedural guidance of the General Inspectorate of the Office of the Prosecutor General, the employees of the State Bureau of Investigation completed a pre-trial investigation into the deputy head of the Uman District Prosecutor's Office in the Cherkasy Region, who fraudulently received a pension based on an illegally obtained disability group.
In 2020, the prosecutor, intending to illegally obtain disability group, went to his family doctor complaining of pain in his digestive organs.
He received a referral to a medical advisory commission. After completing medical documents with unfounded and unconfirmed diagnoses, the prosecutor was referred for a medical examination.
Despite the absence of serious health disorders, the officials of the Cherkasy Regional Center for Medical and Social Examination made an illegal decision to assign the prosecutor the second disability group (lifelong). It should be noted that the entire process—from the first visit to the doctor to the assignment of the disability group—took only four days.
After receiving disability group, the prosecutor submitted the necessary documents to the Pension Fund to receive a disability pension. Thus, from July 2020 to the end of November 2024, the prosecutor illegally received 477,000 UAH.
During the pre-trial investigation, the defendant was dismissed from his managerial position.
He is accused of large-scale fraud (Part 4 of Article 190 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to 8 years.
An indictment has also been sent to court against the head of the Cherkasy Regional Medical and Social Examination Commission No. 2, who assisted the prosecutor in the expedited issue of disability. The official's actions are classified under Part 1 of Article 28 and Part 1 of Article 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (official forgery committed by a group of persons).
