Based on the SBI materials, the court sentenced the organizers of large-scale cyberattacks on web resources of the state for imprisonment for up to 15 years
Based on the investigation of the SBI and the Security Service of Ukraine, the Solomianskyi District Court of the city of Kyiv found two former officers of the Security Service of Ukraine from Crimea guilty of high treason and interference to the electronic communication networks.
In 2014, after the occupation of Crimea by russian troops, the Head of one of the Departments of the Main Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and his Deputy betrayed their oath and went to serve at the Federal Security Service of the russian federation.
They organized more than 5 000 cyberattacks on the web resources of Ukrainian government agencies, ministries and military units.
The court found them guilty under Part 1 Article 111 (high treason) and Part 1 Article 361 (unauthorized interference with the operation of information (automated), electronic communication, information and communication systems, electronic communication networks) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The public prosecution was supported by the Office of the Prosecutor General.
