The officer of the State Service of Ukraine, who recently headed one of the SSU regional departments, were detained for high treason (VIDEO)

The State Bureau of Investigation, in close cooperation with other law enforcement agencies, is systematically eradicating traitors from all state structures that are supposed to ensure the vital activity of Ukraine. None of them will escape the responsibility.

As part of the joint work of the SBI with the Security Service of Ukraine, the SBI notified of suspicion and detained a current SSU officer, who until May 2022 headed one of the regional departments of the Service. He is suspected of high treason and unauthorized abandonment of the place of service by a serviceman under martial law.

It was established that after February 24, 2022, the then head of the regional department of the special service deliberately interfered with the organization of defense by the regional authorities. Thus, he actually acted in the interests of paramilitary units and special services of the russian federation. It was also established that he had abandoned his place of service.

The SSU officer was reported suspicion of committing crimes under Part 1 of Art. 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (high treason) and Part 5 of Art. 407 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (absence without leave from a military unit or place of service committed under martial law by a serviceman).

The sanction of the article provides for up to 15 years of imprisonment.
