The court has once again imposed a preventive measure on Yanukovych in the form of a detention order
At the request of the SBI investigator and in agreement with the General Prosecutor's Office, the court imposed a preventive measure of detention in absentia on the former president of Ukraine.
In November 2021, the SBI completed an investigation into the crimes committed by Yanukovych and nine other high-ranking officials during the 2014 protests. It was found that the actions of this organised criminal group caused 76 deaths and more than 800 injuries of varying severity during this period alone.
At present, all 10 suspects have already been imposed in absentia a measure of restraint in the form of detention.
The judge also set a deadline for the defence to familiarise itself with the pre-trial investigation materials, after which the indictment will be sent to the court.
As you know, the courts have previously imposed on the former president of Ukraine a preventive measure in the form of detention in cases of usurpation of power, Kharkiv agreements, desertion, etc.
