The Court Permitted the Arrest of Medvedchuk

Lychakivskyi District Court of Lviv City has enforced measure of restraint as putting Viktor Medvedchuk into custody.

March 18, 2022 the investigating judge has satisfied the motion of investigator of the SBI on enforcement of measure of restraint as provided for by para. 6 of Art.193 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, i.e. in the absence of the suspect.

Investigators of the SBI jointly with public prosecutors of the Prosecutor General’s Office have previously taken measures for putting Viktor Medvedchuk on international wanted list. We recall that a member of parliament, head of the ‘Opposition Platform – For Life’ Party, Viktor Medvedchuk, the godfather of whose daughter Putin is, is suspected of committed high treason and facilitating the activities of a terrorist organization.

The whereabouts of the suspect is being established.
