A traitor law enforcer, who blew himself up on a mine of his "russian masters" after liberation of Izium, will be brought to court

SBI officers have completed a pre-trial investigation into a former law enforcement officer from the town of Izyum in Kharkiv region. Working for the occupiers, the traitor actively helped them consolidate power in the temporarily occupied region.

The indictment was sent to court.

As the investigation established, after the occupation of Izyum, the former Ukrainian law enforcement officer joined the so-called "people's police".

He helped the invaders patrol the city, identified patriotic Ukrainians and actively persuaded his former colleagues to defect to the enemy.

After the city was liberated, the traitor stayed behind and tried to hide.

In October 2022, he stepped on an anti-personnel mine laid by the russians. As a result of the explosion, his foot was amputated.

The traitor was detained after treatment in a medical facility. He is currently in custody.

The former law enforcement officer is charged with high treason (Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of life imprisonment.

The Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office is in charge of the proceedings.

Earlier, the SBI completed an investigation into the head of the occupation administration of Vesele village in Kharkiv region.
