Head of one of the checkpoints in Odessa region, who took bribes for customs clearance of cars, is put on trial (VIDEO)
The SBi employees completed a pre-trial investigation of the head of the checkpoint "Odessa Automobile", who systematically received bribes from businesses for the rapid custom clearance of cars.
The bill of indictment was sent to court.
The pre-trial investigation revealed that during the years 2020-2021 the officer systematically received money from businessmen. In exchange for a reward, he improperly influenced officers of the checkpoints for trouble-free registration of vehicles. The perpetrator received money at the restaurants in the very center of Odessa. Several cases of him receiving the bribe have been documented. He was caught red-handed while receiving a bribe for the customs clearance of 36 cars.
The intruder is charged with abuse of power (Article 369-2 of the CC of Ukraine), accepting the offer, promise, or receiving illegal advantage by an officer (Article 368-3 of the CC of Ukraine).
The officer faces up to 8 years' imprisonment.
The Office of the Prosecutor General is in charge of the proceedings.
