Ex-law enforcer, who was searching for Ukrainian patriots in Kharkiv region on the orders of occupants, may spend the rest of his life behind bars
The SBI employees completed the pre-trial investigation against a former law enforcement officer from Kupiansk district of Kharkiv region, who actively cooperated with the occupants.
The indictment was sent to court.
At the beginning of March, the law enforcement officer voluntarily began to help the occupants, demanded his former subordinates to join the invaders, forced a local car mechanic to repair russian cars.
He also headed a group to search for Ukrainian patriots in Kupiansk district.
After the invaders retreated, the man was hiding in the villages of Kharkiv region, in one of which he was detained. He is currently in custody.
The former law enforcement officer is charged with high treason committed under martial law (Part 2 Art. 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The sanction of the article provides for life imprisonment.
The procedural supervision is carried out by the Kharkiv Region Prosecutor's Office.
Earlier, the SBI sent to court proceedings against a former customs officer from Kupiansk, who was assigned by the occupants to manage housing and communal services.
