The State Bureau of Investigation became a member of the International Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities (IAACA)
The State Bureau of Investigation has become a member of the International Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities. This decision was made at the 12th General Meeting of IAACA members. The Association's office is located in Hong Kong.
Membership in the International Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities will facilitate the expansion of the State Bureau of Investigation's relations with the world's leading fighters against corruption. It will allow to develop joint international strategies and constructive discussions aimed at building institutions and societies based on integrity and the rule of law.
The International Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities is an independent anti-corruption organization.
The main objective of the organization is to promote the effective implementation of the UN Convention against Corruption, adopted by the UN General Assembly on 31 October 2003, and to assist anti-corruption agencies around the world in preventing and combating corruption.
Today, more than 150 law enforcement agencies from different countries and jurisdictions have joined IAACA as members. Along with the SBI, the association has been joined by anti-corruption agencies from the UK, Belgium, Bulgaria, Argentina and other countries.
This step is another evidence of the integration of national and European anti-corruption programs.
