The SBI has completed an investigation into two traitors who helped russian troops capture Izyum
The State Bureau of Investigation has completed a pre-trial investigation into two former law enforcers from the city of Izyum, Kharkiv region, who helped russian troops seize the city.
The indictments were sent to court.
In March 2022, the women met the invaders' columns in the city center and showed them where all government agencies were located.
For their active assistance, both were "rewarded" with positions of investigators in the newly created "people's police" of the occupiers. There they worked under the laws of the russian federation, patrolling the streets, including the local market.
During the liberation of Izyum, the women decided to flee after the occupiers. However, only one of them managed to do so, while the other was detained by the State Bureau of Investigation. She is currently behind bars.
The defendants are accused of high treason (Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
The Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office is providing procedural supervision.
Earlier, the SBI completed a pre-trial investigation against a tax officer from Kupiansk and a former law enforcement officer from Vovchansk. Both also actively assisted the invaders during the temporary occupation of the region.
