The SBI completed investigation against three former law enforcers from Henichesk who prevented Ukrainians from leaving the occupied territory
The State Bureau of Investigations completed a special pre-trial investigation against three law enforcement officers who betrayed their oath and helped the occupants to block the departure of people from Henichesk to the territory controlled by Ukraine.
The indictment has been sent to court.
After the beginning of the russian invasion, three law enforcers from the city of Henichesk betrayed their oath and defected to the enemy. They voluntarily helped the occupation authorities to create the occupation police and were on duty at checkpoints in the city together with the "rosgvardia" and "riot police".
It is known that the defendants searched people, their cars, checked phones, and seized items on the occupier's orders. They also did not allow citizens to leave from the temporarily occupied part of Kherson region to Ukraine's free territories.
The former law enforcement officers are charged with high treason committed under martial law (Part 2 of Art. 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
Procedural supervision is carried out by the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office.
