The SBI has completed an investigation into former employees of a colony in Mykolaiv region who helped the occupiers illegally detain Kherson residents in a detention centre

The State Bureau of Investigation has completed a special investigation into two employees of the Snihurivska penal colony in Mykolaiv region who started working for the occupiers after the Russian invasion. The indictment has been sent to court.

After the start of russian aggression, the head of the district and a junior inspector of the Snihurivska correctional colony voluntarily defected to the enemy. They moved to Kherson, where they received positions in the illegally created by the occupiers "Department of the Penitentiary Service in Kherson Region".

The collaborators carried out the occupiers' criminal orders as deputy head of the regime and supervision department and inspector of the communal services department of the Kherson pre-trial detention centre.

According to the investigation, they helped the occupiers to illegally detain Kherson residents in the detention centre.

During the liberation of Kherson region, the defendants fled with the occupiers.

They are currently accused of voluntarily taking up positions in illegal law enforcement agencies established in the temporarily occupied territory (Part 7 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The sanction of the article provides for a sentence of up to 15 years in prison.

The procedural supervision is carried out by the Mykolaiv Regional Prosecutor's Office.
