SBI detained a traitor from Kherson, who was involved in occupants' repressions against Ukrainians
SBI employees in cooperation with the Security Service of Ukraine detained a serviceman from Kherson who worked for the invaders during the temporary occupation of the city. He was notified of suspicion of collaboration.
It has been established that in July 2022, the occupation administration appointed the suspect as an "operative of the operational department" in the seized "Northern Correctional Colony No. 90". He helped the occupiers illegally detain Kherson residents and put pressure on them.
After the liberation of Kherson, the collaborator tried to hide, but was detained by law enforcement officers.
During a search of the suspect's residence, law enforcement officers seized a mobile phone he used to communicate with the occupiers, UAH 626,000 and USD 5,000 in cash.
The serviceman was served a notice of suspicion of collaboration (Part 7 Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The issue of choosing custody as a form of detention is being decided.
The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to 15 years.
Procedural supervision is carried out by the Defence Prosecutor's Office of the Southern Region.
