The SBI detained in Kherson a collaborator who was setting up railroad communication with Crimea for the occupiers
The SBI detained and served a notice of suspicion to a former law enforcer who, during the occupation of Kherson, helped the invaders establish a railway connection with the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
After the city was seized, the man immediately supported the occupation authorities.
He was appointed the "deputy head of the construction and installation operational department" in the "state unitary enterprise "Kherson Railway" illegally created by the occupation administration.
The structure operated under the laws of the russian federation, and the defendant received his salary in rubles. He ensured the stable operation of the critical infrastructure institution, took an active part in restoring the railway connection with the AR of Crimea, which the enemy also used to import weapons from the peninsula.
The SBI detained the suspect and searched his place of residence.
He was served a notice of suspicion of committing intentional actions aimed at assisting the aggressor state (Part 1 of Art. 111-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for up to 12 years with or without confiscation of property.
The Kherson Region Prosecutor's Office is in charge of the case.
