The SBI detained retired police lieutenant colonel in Kharkiv region who cooperated with occupants

The State Bureau of Investigation continues to expose traitors and collaborators in the deoccupied territories of our country.

During the stabilization measures in Kharkiv region, the SBI employees in cooperation with the National Police detected and detained a former Ukrainian law enforcement officer who, after the occupation of Kupiansk district, started working in the punitive police of the invaders.

Until 2019, the collaborator was the deputy chief of one of the police departments of Kharkiv region, then he retired with the rank of lieutenant colonel. After the temporary occupation of Kupiansk, the man voluntarily agreed to work in the so-called "people's police".

After the liberation of Kupiansk by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the man got rid of the uniform given to him by the occupiers and tried to hide.

After the initial operations, the detained traitor will be handed over to the Security Service of Ukraine for taking appropriate measures in the framework of the current law of Ukraine.
