The SBI exposed a traitor from Kherson region, who served in occupants' "criminal investigation police"

While all Ukrainian soldiers stood up to defend the state, some "ran away" to serve the occupiers.

In the begining of the full-scale war in Ukraine, a soldier left his military unit in Mykolaiv and went to Kherson to meet the aggressors. For such "loyalty", the invaders employed him in the fake law enforcement agency "Main Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kherson Region". The traitor was employed as a junior detective of the 'criminal investigation' department.

The defendant maintained close relations with the city occupation administration. In particular, it was discovered that he cooperated with the team of traitor Saldo. The former serviceman was handing over data on the location of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to the enemy. Together with the russian military, he seized weapons from his former colleagues and was actively campaigning for cooperation with the russian federation.

When he realised that Kherson would be liberated by the Ukrainian Defence Forces, he managed to escape from the regional centre together with the occupiers.

During the searches at the suspect's place of residence, SBI officers in cooperation with the Security Service of Ukraine seized documents confirming his service for the occupier. Officials found forms of protocols, explanations drawn up in accordance with the criminal legislation of the aggressor country, location records of city residents, as well as information on their political views.

The former soldier was notified in absentia of suspicion of desertion (Part 4 of Article 408 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) and high treason (Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

He faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
