The SBI exposed law enforcers who smuggled conscripts across the border using forged documents

SBI employees have exposed two law enforcement officers who forged documents to smuggle men of military age abroad.

The dealers fabricated "fake" certificates for leaving Ukraine stating that conscripts were allegedly unfit for military service. They charged USD 6,000 for this service.

For an additional fee of USD 1,500, they promised to arrange a checkpoint passage using the forged documents.

On 9 May 2023, one of the offenders was detained by SBI agents with the assistance of the Security Service of Ukraine when he was receiving another part of the payment for the "services".

The investigation is ongoing, the complete circle of persons involved in the crime is being established.

At present, the detainee has already been served a notice of suspicion of obtaining an unlawful benefit by an official and illegal transfer of persons across the state border (Part 3 of Art. 368, Part 3 of Art. 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The sanction of the article provides for up to 10 years in prison.
