The SBI exposed the officials of the Logistics Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the purchase of spare parts for armored vehicles at inflated prices

With the assistance of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the employees of the SBI have exposed the deal and served notifications of suspicion to the Head of one of the central departments of the Command of the Logistics Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Head of the Department of this department and the Former Director of a private enterprise, who caused losses to the state by more than 83 million hryvnias during the purchase of spare parts for armored vehicles.

In 2022, the Director of the private enterprise submitted to one of the departments of the Command of the Logistics Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine a commercial offer for the supply of the necessary spare parts. At the same time, he deliberately inflated the price of products and did not have the appropriate experience in the manufacturing and supplying of such products.

The officials of the Department who were responsible for the procurement knew about the presence of other suppliers. However, they did not carry out appropriate checks of the company's commercial offer and prices on the market, formally negotiated with the company and declared it the winner.

Because of that, two contracts were signed for the supply of spare parts at inflated prices. The total amount of the contract amounted to more than 171 million hryvnias.

According to the results of expertises, it was established that over 83 million hryvnias losses were caused to the state.

The Head of one of the central departments of the Command of the Logistics Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Head of the Department of this department were served notifications of suspicion of abuse of power committed under martial law, by prior agreement (Part 2 of Article 28, Part 5 of Article 426-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The Former Director of the private enterprise was served notification of suspicion of misappropriation of property by abuse of official position (Part 5 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The sanction of the Articles provide for imprisonment for up to 12 years with confiscation of property.

The searches were conducted at the place of living of the suspects. The petition to elect preventive measure in the form of detention is being prepared.

The investigation continues, the facts of legalization by the Director of the enterprise of money that was received for selling spare parts are investigated.
