The SBI exposed another drug syndicate producing methamphetamine and opium in Dnipropetrovs'k region (VIDEO)

The State Bureau of Investigation, in close cooperation with other law enforcement agencies, continues to fight drug mafia and drug trafficking in Ukraine.

The SBI officers in cooperation with the Security Service of Ukraine and the National Police exposed another drug lab in Kamianske, which was producing methamphetamine and acetylated opium on an industrial scale.

A resident of Kryvyi Rih organized the production of drugs and psychotropics in one of the countryside cooperatives. The finished drugs were sold through so-called cash drops or hand-to-hand delivery. A law enforcement officer was involved in the criminal group of drug traffickers.

According to preliminary estimates, the monthly turnover of the laboratory reached about UAH 5 million.

During the special operation, law enforcement officers conducted more than 25 searches and seized ready-to-sell drugs, precursors, mobile phones, weapons and almost half a million hryvnias in cash.

Currently, 6 people have been detained, including the organizer of the illegal business.

They were served a notice of suspicion of participation in a criminal organization, illegal production and sale of drugs (Part 1, 2 Art. 255 and Part 3 Art. 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The sanction of the articles provides for imprisonment for up to 12 years with confiscation of property.

The issue of choosing a custody as a form of detention is being decided.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing, the full range of persons involved in drug production is being established.

The Dnipropetrovs'k Regional Prosecutor's Office is providing procedural supervision.

We remind that a week ago, the SBI exposed another drug lab in Dnipro. The monthly turnover of drug dealers reached at least UAH 12 million.
