SBI exposes former law enforcement officer promoting "Russian world" among Ukrainian children in temporarily occupied territory
The SBI continues to identify and prosecute traitors and collaborators who collaborated with the invaders during the russian invasion.
SBI officers served a notice of suspicion of desertion and collaboration in absentia to a former law enforcement officer from Starobilsk district of Luhansk region.
It was established that on 24 February 2022, with the beginning of russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the law enforcer fled from his place of service in the town of Bilovodsk, Luhansk region. After the russians seized the territory of Starobilsk district, the suspect was interviewed by the occupiers and started working in the "traffic police service of the luhansk people's republic militsia".
Working as a "traffic policeman" under the occupiers, the defendant imposes fines, checks cars and patrols settlements under the laws of the russian federation.
In addition, the former law enforcement officer organises so-called "career guidance activities" among children living in the temporarily occupied territory of Starobilsk district, promoting the "russian world".
The former law enforcement officer is suspected of desertion (Article 408(4) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) and collaboration (Article 111-1(7) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The articles provide for up to 15 years in prison.
Procedural supervision is provided by the Luhansk Specialised Defence Prosecutor's Office.
