The SBI continues detentions of traitors in de-occupied territories of Kharkiv region

Employees of the State Bureau of Investigations are actively implementing stabilization measures in the territories of Kharkiv region liberated from Russian aggressors.

In order to expose all traitors who voluntarily defected to the invaders during the temporary occupation of settlements, systematic and consistent work is being carried out.

In particular, the SBI employees with the assistance of the Main Department of the National Police in Kharkiv region detained a former law enforcer who held a senior position in the village of Velykyi Burluk.

After the occupation of the settlement, the law enforcement officer began negotiations with the invaders, gave them the premises of a cafe, which belonged to his wife, and his car for use. He also persuaded and agitated his colleagues to go over to the enemy.

When the Armed Forces of Ukraine drove the occupants out of the village, the former law enforcer did not have time to escape and was detained. He was notified of suspicion of treason (Part 2 of Art. 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The sanction of the article provides for life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

In addition, in the territory of Kupiansk district of Kharkiv region, the SBI employees exposed the collaboration activities of local forestry workers. They helped the occupants to cut down trees, which were then used for the construction of fortifications.

Currently, they have been notified of suspicion of collaboration (Part 5 of Art. 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to 10 years.

The procedural guidance of the pre-trial investigation is carried out by the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office.

We remind that every fact of treason will not escape the watchful eye of the SBI officers. Each traitor will be brought to justice in accordance with the Law of Ukraine.
