The SBI joined the Camden Asset Recovery Interagency Network
The State Bureau of Investigation is striving to enhance its efforts to identify and recover assets obtained through criminal means.
The establishment of international cooperation, which will be significantly strengthened by joining such a reputable international institution, is the key to achieving significant results in this area.
CARIN is an informal network of law enforcement and judicial practitioners who are experts in asset identification and tracing, asset freezing, seizure, and confiscation.
The purpose of CARIN is to increase the effectiveness of its members' efforts, on a multi-agency basis, to deprive criminals of their illicit profits.
The representatives of the member states are called “national contact points”. All of them are English speaking as the working language of the network is English.
CARIN now has 54 registered member states in other countries, including 28 EU member states and 9 international organizations.
We received confirmation from CARIN on February 7, 2023, that the authorized representative of the State Bureau of Investigation had been designated as the network's contact point in Ukraine.
As a result, Ukrainian law enforcement officers' effectiveness in combating money and asset legalization will only grow.
