SBI serves another notice of suspicion to deputy chairman of the russian state duma, who justified armed aggression against Ukraine in a TV show of Solovyov
SBI officers served a new suspicion notice to russian oligarch and state duma deputy head Alexander Babakov.
In an interview on russian propaganda channels, Babakov, answering a question from russian propagandist Vladimir Solovyov about the parts of Donetsk and Kherson regions captured by russia, said that these regions are economic territories that russia should not sponsor, but develop and use for its own economic purposes.
In this way, he justified and recognised the armed aggression of russia against Ukraine and the temporary occupation of parts of Ukraine's territories as legitimate.
The SBI served Babakov with a notice of suspicion under the article on justification and recognition of Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine (part 3 of Article 436-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to 8 years with confiscation of property.
Procedural guidance is provided by the Office of the Prosecutor General.
Earlier, the SBI served Babakov with a notice of suspicion for voting for a number of federal laws on the inclusion of Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions, along with Snihuriv and Oleksandrivsk districts of Mykolaiv region, into the russian federation.
The intentional actions of the russian deputy resulted in numerous human casualties among Ukrainian servicemen and civilians, damage and destruction of civilian, critical and military infrastructure in Ukraine.
In the course of the pre-trial investigation initiated under Part 3 of Article 110 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine), Babakov was served a notice of suspicion.
The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
