The SBI notified a traitor, who in 2014 joined the enemy and today is fighting against Ukraine of suspicion

The SBI employees notified the former commander of the corvette "Ternopil" Maxim Yemelyanenko of suspicion of high treason, who in 2014 defected to the enemy.

After the occupants invaded his unit in Sevastopol and the corvette "Ternopil", the third rank commander was the only member of the crew to pledge allegiance to the aggressor.

Now the traitor is fighting against Ukraine in the russian armed forces on the patrol ship "Ladniy" as an assistant of the commander.

Investigators of the SBI together with the Cyber Police gathered enough evidence and in absentia notified the enemy of suspicion of high treason (Part 1 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

He faces punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to 15 years.

Procedural guidance is provided by the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office in the Military and Defence Sphere of the Southern Region.

It should be reminded, that earlier the SBI had already notified the captain of the russian cruiser "Admiral Makarov" and the commander of the missile boat "Vyshny Volochek" of suspicion. Officers also betrayed Ukraine in 2014.

The State Bureau of Investigation continues to carry out systematic work to identify the perpetrators, including those who defected to the enemy side back in 2014.

All traitors and deserters will be brought to justice.
