The SBI has served notifications of suspicion to the co-owners of the foundry in Makiivka for financing the "Donetsk People's Republic". One of the figurants was detained

The employees of the SBI with the assistance of the Security Service of Ukraine have served notifications of suspicion to the two co-owners of the foundry in Makiivka, Donetsk region, and to the two employees of the factory for the fact of financing the terrorist organization "Donetsk People's Republic".

The two co-owners of the foundry in Makiivka, father and son, organized the work of the factory after the beginning of the temporary occupation of the region in 2014. The company was re-registered in accordance with the requirements of the "new authorities", the products were exported to the russian federation, while another manufacturer was indicated in the documents. Afterwards, the products were sold in russia and through intermediary companies in Ukraine.

The employees of the factory prepared the necessary documents for the export of the products from the occupied territories, concluded the contracts, carried out sales communication. Also, the company continued to pay taxes, but already in the budget of the militants. In total, almost 37 million russian rubles were paid.

On February 15, 2024, one of the co-owners - father, who was in Ukraine, was exposed and served notification of suspicion. The issue of choosing a measure of restraint is being decided.

His son and two employees of the factory were served notifications of suspicion in absentia, as they are still in the occupied territories.

All four defendants are suspected of financing terrorism committed by an organized group (Part 3 of Article 258-5 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The sanction of the Article provides for imprisonment for up to 12 years with confiscation of property.
