The SBI served a notice of suspicion to a law enforcer from Starobilsk district who resigned from his senior position for the sake of the "russian world"
The SBI employees notified a former law enforcement officer from Starobilsk, Luhansk region, who is working for the russian armed forces, of suspicion.
At the beginning of the russian invasion, the law enforcement officer, who held a senior position in the city, ignored the evacuation order and stayed in the russian-occupied territory of Starobilsk district.
The defendant was interviewed by representatives of the "occupation authorities" and agreed to work for the invaders as an ordinary mercenary for the sake of service in the " luhansk people's republic ministry of internal affairs" ("lpr mia"). The defendant is still working in the so-called "novopskov district department of internal affairs of the lpr mia".
The former law enforcer was served a notice of suspicion of high treason in absentia (Part 2 Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of life imprisonment.
