Genichesk law enforcer, who collects fines from Kherson residents for occupiers' treasury, is charged with suspicion by the SBI
The SBI agents, in cooperation with the Security Service of Ukraine and the National Police, filed a suspicion notice in absentia against a law enforcement officer from Kherson region who had voluntarily defected to the enemy from the first days of the war.
After the start of the full-scale invasion, the occupation authorities created a fake law enforcement agency, the Genichesky district police department of the Kherson region's main police department. The defendant voluntarily applied for a job there and began to help the occupiers.
Currently, he "performs" the functions of an inspector of the invaders' traffic police: he carries out filtration measures, collects fines from Kherson residents to the occupiers' treasury, and reports on the displacement of local residents. He is also happy to participate in propaganda media programmes.
The man has already been dismissed from the ranks of Ukrainian law enforcement agencies.
He was served a notice of suspicion of high treason (Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
The Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office is providing procedural supervision.
