The SBI served a notice of suspicion to the head of occupation police in Lyman
The SBI employees reported suspicion to a former law enforcement officer from Donetsk region, who during the temporary occupation of Lyman headed the so-called "people's militia" of the invaders.
After the beginning of the russian invasion, the law enforcement officer refused to follow the order to evacuate, stayed in the city and defected to the enemy. He came for an interview with representatives of the occupation authorities and agreed to take the post of the head of the "Krasnolimanskyi district of the ministry of internal affairs of the donetsk people's republic".
The man illegally acquired service firearms and ammunition while heading the pseudo-organization.
After the Armed Forces of Ukraine liberated the city of Lyman, the suspect fled and is now hiding in the russian federation.
The former law enforcement officer was served a notice of suspicion of high treason and of taking possession of firearms and ammunition by abuse of office (Part 2 Art. 111, Part 2 Art. 262 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The sanction of the article provides for life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
