SBI has issued a notice of suspicion to a former law enforcer from Kupiansk, who on instructions of occupants robbed local residents of weapons
SBI officers announced a suspicion of treason to a former law enforcement officer from Shevchenkove village, Kupiansk district, Kharkiv region.
On the occupiers' orders, he took weapons from local residents.
It was found that after the occupation of the settlement, the traitor defected to the enemy and became actively involved in enforcing the occupation order. In order to get a position in the so-called "people's police", he compiled the necessary credentials and wrote an application to the local governor.
At first, the traitor "worked" in the illegal law enforcement agency as a district inspector. While patrolling the village, he detained and brought to the police station his fellow countrymen who aroused his suspicions. Also, on the instructions of the occupiers, he would search for weapons from local residents. For this purpose, he conducted raids among those who had special permits to use weapons.
Later, he was promoted from a district inspector to an operative of the criminal investigation team.
He managed to receive 90 thousand russian rubles for working for the enemy. Yet, he was unable to build his career further. During the liberation of Kupiansk district, the traitor had to quickly flee to russia.
The former law enforcement officer was served a notice of suspicion of high treason in absentia (Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
The Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office is providing procedural supervision.
Earlier, the SBI served a notice of suspicion to the chief state inspector of the Kupiansk customs post, who, after the Russian takeover of the city, went to work for the local occupation administration.
