Employees of the State Bureau of Investigation served a notice of suspicion in absentia to a former law enforcement officer from the city of Izyum, Kharkiv region. During the occupation, he was suppose to have his fingers on the pulse of public sentiment and report his guesses to the enemy.

The man began actively cooperating with the invaders in early March 2022. At first, he was appointed to the position of assistant duty officer, and later he became an operational duty officer in the occupiers' punitive unit.

To ensure that the russians had sufficient information and could respond to all possible threats, the traitor constantly monitored the situation in the city. He reported everything he found out not only to the leadership of the occupation department, but also to the russian military.

After the city was liberated, the traitor fled to russia.

He was notified in absentia of being suspected of high treason (Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The sanction of the article provides for life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

The Poltava Regional Prosecutor's Office is in charge of the procedural supervision.

Earlier, the State Bureau of Investigation served two other former law enforcement officers from Kupiansk and Chuhuiv districts with a notice of suspicion of treason. They also actively assisted the occupiers.
