The SBI served notification of suspicion to the former head of the Secretariat of Commissioner for Human Rights for official negligence amounting to UAH 1,6 million
The employees of the State Bureau of Investigation have served notification of suspicion to the former head of the Secretariat of the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights. His official negligence caused losses to the state amounting to over UAH 1,6 million.
According to the investigation, the official, who held a category "A" civil service position, failed to ensure proper control over compliance with budget legislation in 2021. Without sufficient analysis of market prices and justification, he concluded a lease agreement for non-residential premises at a cost that was almost twice the average market price.
Due to these actions, in 2021-2022, excess funds were paid from the state budget, causing material damage to the state to the specified amount.
The actions of the former official are classified under Part 2 of Article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — official negligence resulting in serious consequences.
The article provides for up to 5 years of imprisonment.
The procedural guidance is provided by the Office of the Prosecutor General.
