The SBI reported suspicion to former deputy head of State Fiscal Service of Dnipropetrovs'k region who allowed environmental tax dodging in amount of UAH 50 million
The State Bureau of Investigation continues to expose and bring to justice officials of state agencies involved in millions of losses caused to the state budget of Ukraine.
The diligent work of the SBI employees resulted in exposing the involvement of the top management of the fiscal authority of Dnipropetrovsk region in violations, due to which the state budget of Ukraine lost tens of millions of hryvnias.
It was found that tax officers during the inspection of the mining and processing enterprise "did not detect" the absence of payment of almost UAH 50 million of environmental tax.
The State Bureau of Investigation has previously notified the chief state auditor inspector, who conducted the inspection, of suspicion of negligence.
Currently, due to the underestimated tax liabilities, and, therefore, the possibility of tax evasion, the SBI reported suspicion to the former deputy head of the Main Department of the State Fiscal Service in Dnipropetrovsk region of neglect of official duty that caused grave consequences (Part 2 of Art. 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The former official may face imprisonment for up to 5 years.
In addition, the chief accountant of the mining and processing plant was also notified of suspicion of tax evasion (Part 3 of Article 212 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). In order to intentionally evade taxes, the company did not include in the tax reporting the coefficient of environmental tax for waste disposal, air and water pollution for more than UAH 100 million.
The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of a fine of 15 to 25 thousand untaxed minimum incomes with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to 3 years with confiscation of property.
Thanks to the steadfast position of the SBI employees, the mining and processing plant partially acknowledged the environmental tax shortage and returned part of the money to the state budget on its own.
