SBI served suspicion notices to two Ukrainian judges, one of whom headed the occupiers' 'military tribunal' in Donetsk region
SBI officers served notices of suspicion in absentia to two former judges from Donetsk region who are working for the occupiers in the fake "supreme court".
It was established that a former judge of the Donetsk Court of Appeal decided to "administer justice" under the auspices of the pseudo-republic during the temporary occupation of Donetsk region in 2014. The woman contributed actively to the creation of the occupiers' pseudo-judicial system.
In 2016, she became a "judge of the supreme court of the donetsk people's republic (dpr)". A little later, the suspect was appointed "deputy chairman of the supreme court of the dpr" and headed the so-called "military tribunal of the supreme court of the dpr".
The accused held trials over detained citizens who were captured by the occupiers for their cooperation with the Ukrainian government. She sentenced most of them to the most severe punishment.
For her "work", the pseudo-judge received a badge of an "honorary lawyer of the dpr" from the occupiers.
Another former judge of the Donetsk District Administrative Court betrayed Ukraine in 2014 and remained in the temporarily occupied territory to create a "new justice". She currently holds the position of "deputy chairman of the 'supreme court' - chairman of the judicial chamber for arbitration cases of the supreme court of the dpr".
Both "judges" provide briefings to propaganda TV channels, during which they report on the work of the punitive justice of the pseudo-republic and the "supreme court of the dpr", maintaining the illusion of the effectiveness of the occupation system.
Former Ukrainian judges are suspected of high treason (part 1 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The article provides for a sentence of up to 15 years in prison.
The Donetsk Regional Prosecutor's Office is in charge of the proceedings.
