SBI informs 22 collaborators from Luhansk and Kherson regions of suspicion
The State Bureau of Investigation continues its systematic work to bring to justice collaborators and traitors who, after the russian invasion, began serving the occupiers for short-term benefit.
SBI officers served notices of suspicion in absentia to 22 collaborators and traitors from Luhansk and Kherson regions who began working for the occupiers after the russian invasion.
One of the defendants, a former rescuer, was appointed to the position of "head of the fire department of Nyzhni Sirohozy village" in the temporarily occupied territories of Kherson region in the Genichesk territorial community.
The second one voluntarily took up the position of "senior inspector of the ministry of emergency situations of luhansk people's republic" in luhansk oblast.
Another person involved, an employee of the Kherson Probation Centre, went to work for the occupiers as the head of the human resources department of the 'department of the federal penitentiary service in the Kherson region' in the temporarily occupied territory of Skadovsk district.
Another 19 former law enforcement officers from Kherson voluntarily started working for the enemy in an illegal structure created by the occupiers - the so-called criminalistics centre of the ministry of internal Affairs of Kherson region. This centre was created by the russian special services to establish control over Kherson during the temporary occupation.
The 19 defendants were appointed as "forensic experts" to provide the impression that there was a law enforcement system in the seized region.
Two former rescuers were served in absentia with a notice of suspicion of voluntarily holding a position in illegal authorities established in the temporarily occupied territory (Part 5 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
A former employee of the Probation Centre and 19 so-called "criminalists" were served a notice of suspicion of voluntarily holding a position in illegal judicial or law enforcement bodies established in the temporarily occupied territory (part 7 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The sanction of the articles provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to 15 years.
Procedural supervision is provided by the Kirovohrad and Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Offices.
As a reminder, the SBI materials will be used to try a traitor couple who burned their Russian passports after the de-occupation of Kherson.
