The SBI suspects the traitor ex-mayor of Sviatohirsk of embezzling more than UAH 3 million of budget funds

Employees of the State Bureau of Investigations have served a new suspicion notice to the former mayor of Sviatohirsk of misappropriation of budget funds worth more than UAH 3 million.

It was established that in 2020, the Sviatohirsk community signed a contract with a construction company for the reconstruction of a local kindergarten. However, the construction of the kindergarten was not completed despite the conclusion of additional agreements to extend the reconstruction period.

Subsequently, the mayor signed the acceptance documents for the work performed. At the same time, he entered false information about the completion of the construction. Because of this, extra UAH 3 million was transferred from the budget to the account of the construction company.

The former official was notified of being suspected of misappropriation of budget funds by abuse of power committed on a large scale (Part 2, 4, 5 of Article 191 of the Criminal Code) andissuance by an officer of knowingly false official documents, which caused grave consequences (Part 1, 2 of Article 366 of the Criminal Code).

The sanction of the article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to 12 years.

It should be recalled that in June 2022, the State Bureau of Investigations opened criminal proceedings on the fact of high treason against the former head of the city. He publicly supported the "liberators", discredited the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the country's authorities, spread russian propaganda and fake news. Including the alleged arson of the All Saints Skete of the Sviatohirsk Lavra by the Ukrainian military, etc.
