SBI suspects another former Kyiv City State Administration official of illegal ownership transfer of state property to trade unions for billions of hryvnias

The SBI reported suspicion to the former head of the Main Property Department of the Kyiv City State Administration, who illegally transferred ownership of state property worth billions of hryvnias.

The SBI in cooperation with the Security Service of Ukraine have documented that from 1992 to the present, officials of the Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine and private joint-stock companies controlled by it, by prior conspiracy, illegally registered the ownership of state property, and then alienated resort, sports, tourist and other state-owned complexes.

The mentioned official of the Kyiv City State Administration, in violation of the law, issued ownership registration orders of property complexes and real estate objects.

The official illegally registered the ownership of property complexes / real estate objects, namely:

• Kyiv " Balneological hospital",
• sanatorium "Zhovten",
• property complex of the recreation center on Vyshgorodska street,
• property complex in Kyiv on Kurortna Street.

The value of this property at the time of the crime exceeded UAH 247 million, now the value of these objects reaches billions of hryvnias.

These objects have already been seized and transferred to the management of the Asset Recovery and Management Agency .

The official was served a notice of suspicion of abuse of office in the interests of other legal entities, use of official position contrary to the interests of the service, which caused grave consequences (Part 2 Art. 364 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The sanction of the article provides for punishment up to 6 years in prison.

Earlier, the SBI served a notice of suspicion to another former Kyiv City State Administration official who participated in this scheme.  

The investigation is ongoing.
