The SBI transferred property worth UAH 70 million of corrupt contractor of the National Council on Television and Radio Broadcasting to the ARMA

The property of a company that failed to complete a UAH 95 million project of providing information security for the National Council of Television and Radio Broadcasting was transferred to the Asset Recovery and Management Agency by SBI agents.

In 2018-2019, officials of the National Council, together with the management of a private company, created and implemented an automated software and hardware complex for monitoring the television and radio space. The state paid over UAH 95 million according to the contract.

The State Audit Service discovered a number of violations in the actions of National Council officials and the contractor; the Service also confirmed the illegality of actions taken during the signing and execution of contracts for the complex's supply.

In particular, the company purchased equipment and software that did not meet technical requirements and was sold overpriced. At the same time, National Council officials "were actively involved" in spending state funds. For example, the National Council paid UAH 8.6 million for one of the programs, but the developer received only UAH 1,000.

The project was not finished, and the purchased "hardware" and programs were not used for several years, making it significantly more difficult for the National Council to perform its control functions.

The investigation is conducted under Part 4 Art. 190, Part 5 Art. 191, Part 2 Art. 209 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

During the pre-trial investigation, at the request of the Prosecutor General's Office, the property of this private company worth over UAH 70 million, including vehicles, office premises, 55 freight cars, was seized.

All assets were transferred to the ARMA for use in the interests of the state.

The SBI emphasizes once more that all corruption schemes will be exposed in collaboration with partners. Nobody will tolerate stealing from the country.
