The head of the occupation administration of Balaklia, who was detained by the SBI after the liberation of the city, will spend 14 years in prison
The Kyiv district court of Kharkov sentenced to 14 years in prison a former law enforcement officer from Balakliya. During the russian invasion, he was one of the first who supported the invaders.
At one time, the man had been working in the police, but after the police had been reformed he left the law enforcement agency. During the occupation of Balakliya, he began to cooperate with the enemy and headed the local punitive unit, later he was promoted to the head of the entire occupation administration.
The employees of the SBI in cooperation with the Security Service of Ukraine exposed the traitor after the Armed Forces of Ukraine beat out the invaders from the city. He was trying to escape to the occupied part of Luhansk region, but the turncoat was detained in the city of Kupyansk.
The court found him guilty of collaboration (Part 5, 7 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) and sentenced him to the imprisonment for 14 years. His property was also confiscated, including luxury real estate and the off-road vehicle.
